Grad Timeline

Golden Secondary Grade 12 Timeline 

November/December

  • Start a post secondary file with important information: PEN number; SIN; list of volunteer activities; update your resume; obtain current letters of reference (have this information readily available, to support scholarship and post secondary school applications).
  • Ensure your courses meet BC graduation requirements (80 credit minimum). 
  • Complete the student transcript form:

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/k-12/support/transcripts-and-certificates

This will ensure your 2nd semester midterm marks, final marks & transcripts are sent to the post secondary institute automatically. Really important to complete.

  • Apply to post secondary programs. 
  • Apply for housing if needed
  • Submit online marks (or ask Mrs. Munroe  to submit paper based marks) if required
  • Check for additional information that your post secondary school might require (essays, portfolios, reference letters, etc.)
  • See Grad Zone on the GSS website for more scholarship information. Also, visit post secondary schools' financial aid webpage. Internal GSS scholarship applications will be available in March.

March

  • Many universities/colleges will ask you to self-report grades
  • Follow-up with the institution about any uncertainties (eg. Residence; marks; admission status; deadlines; paperwork, fees, etc)
  •  Internal Scholarship meeting with grade 12's

April

  • GSS Internal Scholarship applications due
  • District Authority Scholarship Presentations
  • Some institutions will require you to send a registration deposit by the end of the month
  • Grad eligibility list is posted

June

  • Grad stage write-ups due to the office 
  • Grad Ceremonies and Prom! 
  • If needed apply for Student Loans: https://studentaidbc.ca/

Grad Ceremony & Prom

The 2025 prom will be held at the Eagle's Eye Restaurant at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort on Thursday, June 26.  More details to come

The 2025 Grad Ceremony will take place at the Golden arena on Wednesday, June 25 at 7 pm.

Grad Fundraisers

Mom's Pantry Fundraiser:

We are getting ready to launch our November fundraiser with Mom’s Pantry.

Ordering is EASY!  Go online to  https://momspantry.ca/

- Click on Shop Now

- Once everything has been added to the cart, click on Group Pick Up and enter the Order Number and Group Passcode

- Remember the Seller Name should be the student’s name.

  • Order Number 398120
  • Group Passcode 32332
  • Customers supporting your fundraiser should choose the option “Fundraiser Order” (Group Pick Up) as all orders will be sent to GSS.

Orders need to be submitted by November 21st to have delivery in time for the week of December 9th.
